Eyes That Watch The Hands That Thread

Poem

I have closed my eyes to the world,
Where the worldly has nothing to offer me,
A gift or a present,
Only a part of a routine of life,
I haven’t the crown,
None of the glue or tape to shut off
The existence of what is always a part of hurting me.

A change always ebbing and flowing,
A constant string of tangibilities,
Reigning in the sights that watch the games,
An eye watching for new life,
A flight to take among the lights that fill morning shadows,
To break the cycle of fiends
Or to soar among the misfits,
In search of what to sail homage.

It was in the drift,
A place of emptiness
A place in between time being fate,
And the moon,
A lover in consequent to swim of
Kindly feats,
A drama in play of what isn’t seen,
In the moments of release.

—

A timely dream in quiet breaks of seasons,
A mirror, but a glass that is fond of its wandering —
Mornings for the singing becomes drawing and pleasing,
Here, in what is mine,
I feel the presence of a nightly shadow,
A moonlit friend a-called by the fire,
A taunting of ice licked skies,
A vase into an abyss of tired minds,
Changed with what’s left behind.

All of what we’d seen,
Designed by the clouds,
Reflected by fissures of water lined streets —
Placed in the plains of unfinished sewing,
With seams at the bits,
With eyes peeled on ground but hunger sets in,
Hands, wrapped and fidgeted among
The fabric that bends reality to personality,
Making the futures and destinies,
But always threaded by the hands, not of enemies,
Kept by the owners whose fabric and thread
Are weaved and woven for,
It was for the movement of hands warmed at pyres.
