As Girl Scout Cookie season comes to a close, I want to thank all my friends that took a minute and donated or purchased through my last post a month or so ago. All told, the little ladies sold about 1,700 boxes. Sorry, I had to put that in here as a proud dad. We have always put it on our daughters to do their lions-share of the work, and this awkward and unique year was no exception.
Every day, every post-school time window of selling and all interaction and up-sell belonged to them. Behind a plexiglass shield, masked up and hand sanitized to the gills, they got it done…because they wanted to.

That aside, it’s a true privilege to be a part of something so special in so many ways. We live in a very diverse city located in a very diverse region. Each year, no matter what is going on in the world, we are thrilled to interact with the dozens of people of all races, religions, colors, shapes, and sizes that come by.
We go door to door, put signs up on our street, and create a drive-thru-Esque environment inviting people to knock on our door and place their orders anytime during the day.
We bask in the differences and all of the characters that come to call us. We thrive in the conversations each year for a month and always walk away feeling changed for the better. Thank you, Girl Scouts, for helping shape a better future, one young lady, one interaction, and one cookie sale at a time.
