A Descent Into Madness

Just Darkness

Disconcert
Formless
Disarranged
Disengaged

Like mush settling in slowly between the wrinkles of your mind
The sensation of the color gray,
Vibrant as it is listless on the pallet of your skin

At times it is cast like a haze over the filter of your eyes
You, sitting like an empty cup on a table waiting to be filled
Even the empty cup although alone and without water
It stands with form, and yet is unaware of its form

Where to go.
Where to be.
Where do you belong.
Direction? Deviation?

Watching the clock work movements of others
As they pass and weave between one another
Lives touching.
Drifting
Through as to be a lost soul
Long since perished

Returned, accidentally,
Stolen from the gods
Some time in the realm of the living

Energy. It pulsates.
Jolting the spaces around you,
But nothing inside moves
Life seems to be jilted by your soul
Like a lover sitting alone under a night sky
With no stars or moon or planets.
Just darkness.

The world around rushes by as if you were late for an orchestra,
The music plays faintly in the distance through the panic
It’s not that you’ve missed anything, it’s just….
It’s still there, not yet ended and yet it’s….
Distant.

It’s as if — in the distance the music of life silently plays
