Wisdom

The only real wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” Socrates.

What I wish I knew more about in my 20 something life. I wish I listened more and talked less.
Sleep cures a lot of things; depression, fatigue, confusion, sadness, loneliness and being uncertain so sleep more.

Work hard, be on time, talk with older people and ask all kinds of questions. (Grandparents for certain).
Stop wasting time worrying about anything, if you have something to do, go ahead and make a plan to do it.
Don’t waste your time on people that don’t appreciate you, period.
Do no harm, take no crap and say no when you want to.
If you wish to get a tattoo, then talk with a dermatologist. Opt for a henna tattoo.
Ask more questions, be as curious as you already are and push your limits
Fall six times and get up seven times
When you want something, sleep on it. If in two to three days, you still want it then go and get it.
Spend your time wisely, live your life the way you wish and remember this isn’t a dress rehearsal, make your life count, create your dreams, share your wonder and explore all possibilities.
If you learn how to apologise quicker from your heart, you will move on sooner and leave the drama behind. Remember when you apologise it should be in a manner that the receiving party excepts.
You can always make more money; you can never create more time, hang out with people you love
Every once in a while you might want to go someplace and get quiet, do this, explore yourself and grow, grow and grow some more. Speak of creative possibilities with your family your friends and the people you love.
Ignore getting caught up in other peoples gossip and dramas.

A good friend of mine asked a question the other day, what are you afraid of? I am so scared that kind words are disappearing from our vocabularies, I am worried that everyone needs to be right without any conversation, I am afraid that the vocal minority is taking over this planet. I am not scared to have an opinion that is different from the norm. I am not afraid to disagree with something even if it isn’t the favoured position of the day. I am not afraid to admit my mistakes and ask for forgiveness, and I will never be afraid to help a child or an older adult, I will share kind words with people in every situation.
After 62 years these thoughts are vibrating in my soul at a high level, and I believe are as relevant today as when I was 20. Perhaps more!
Be the best you can, do great work, have the wonder of your four year- old child’s heart, know that no one succeeds alone and we are all in this together.

I love you all, Roddy F July 2018
