A Dead Cat!

a poem.

I saw a dead cat today
On the road, mutilated
But who did it? and why?
I am no Einstein but —
I know this, she was innocent

She was but a wild cat,
Crossing the road
In the midnight maybe, when —
A car cruising down the road
ran over that whiskered face

Did you meet her family?
Was she pregnant?, or —
Expecting?
Or worse yet, was she…?
Was she afraid when she died?

Shall I drag her bloody corpse?
Or let it stay there? to let it —
be trampled more…and more…
Her suffering is over now, but,
when does it end? the suffering, and —
desecration of my mother, my Earth!

Thank you for reading. :)
