Italians Are The Main Problem of Italy

Rome has been my home for two years of my life. I have met many Italians and after leaving the country, I realize why Italy will never be the same Italy of 1950s-1970s with the booming economy and money.

Do you know how a typical day of Italian working man goes? In the early morning, he goes to a local bar to drink coffee and eat cornetto (Italian croissant). He stands at the bar, drinking his coffee and talking to the barista, whom he knows for 15 years now. After that, he goes to the office, where he spends one hour in work, after which, goes to have coffee again. Now, with his colleagues. Comes back to the office, and while working, starts discussing where and with whom to have lunch. After tense discussions of whether he wants pizza or pasta this lunch, he goes for a lunch. A glass of wine goes very well with their food, often it is more than that. He works until the evening comes, with breaks for coffee and talks, and finally goes home to have some dinner, spending time with his beloved mother and family.

The next day, when he wakes up, he says “another beautiful day” and repeats what he did yesterday.

Italians just love living life. And it is the country’s main problem.
